The American Muslim Taskforce on Civil Rights and Elections (AMT) an umbrella group comprised of a dozen Muslim groups, held a press conference at the National Press Club on Monday, December 29th.

Originally the conference was so the American Muslim leadership could read a Dear Obama letter listing the many ways he could reward the Muslim Community for the overwhelming number of votes he received from that community. 89% according to one of the speakers.

But the Dear Obama theme changed to the Gaza Conflict theme after Israel responded to weeks of rocket attacks by taking out Hamas command centers, installations, rocket manufacturing facilities, storage warehouses and tunnels.

The American Muslim leadership doesn’t like it when the Israelis (or any infidels) defend themselves.

And what a leadership it is.

Ibraham Hooper, chief impostor for the unindicted coconspirators at CAIR, moderated the 37 minute show with performances by Mahdi Bray – who insisted on strict enforcement of the Arms Export Control Act (presumably in reference to Israel but I don’t recall Bray or any other Muslim crying when Bush gave the Palestinians M-16s and millions of rounds of ammunition a while back) and quoted Patrick Henry out of one side of his mouth while urging viewers to attend ANSWER’s (Act Now to Stop War and Racism) nation wide anti Israeli demonstrations out the other.

- Agha Saeed who listed some demands from the Dear Obama letter including; consulting with the Muslim community when appointing a new envoy to the Organization of the Islamic Conference, an ambassador at large to improve Muslim -US relations (no doubt Saeed has someone like Hesham Islam, jihadi in residence at the DOD in mind), establish roundtables with Muslim leadership for all federal departments and discussing Muslim proposals for restoring America’s moral leadership in the world. (Moral leadership? But Muslim morality allows beheadings, amputations, mutilations, whippings, wife beatings, gang rapes, lies, honor killings and blowing up children. Clearly that’s a “morality” Western Civilization can do without. But who knows what Obama will do.)

– North Carolina State Senator Larry Shaw. Shaw serves on the National Board of the Council on American Islamic Relations. Shaw, a government employee, serves on the board of an organization that was and still is designated as an unindicted coconspirator by the United States Government. Nothing unseemly in that though. Right? Shaw, pausing for dramatic effect said, “The open support of your (Obama’s) candidacy would be certain death… Because anything remotely associated with Islam would be a death sentence to your candidacy. We lived this nightmare” Shaw thanked Campell Brown and Colin Powell for their support of Muslims and for saying the things they (Muslims) could not say. He insisted Muslims be included at each and every level of each and every agency and asked for 25 to 50 billion dollars for the Small Business Administration

-Nihad Awad, Executive Director of the unindicted coconspirators at CAIR, decried the illegal and immoral (two states of being Awad is intimately familiar with) bombardment of Gaza and assured viewers the attack was prompted by Israeli political electioneering rather than Hamas rockets that “always miss their targets and even do not reach their destination.” Awad warns (threatens) us that the images of suffering Palestinians “may be used by extremists to justify attacks on innocent people and even harm American interests” and that we shouldn’t be misled by sound bites from trained Israeli spokesmen. (But we SHOULD be mislead by lies from an unindicted coconspirator?)
-Aktar Hussein with the Muslim Umma of North America said Muslims elected Obama so now he must interact with Muslims and suggested the AMT could reach out to the Muslim world for America

- Agha Saeed wrapped it up, telling us Obama’s election represented a treasure of good will throughout the Muslim world, thanked Jimmy Carter and Colin Powell, assured us that “We (Muslims) are ready to be your partners for peace.”

Partners for peace? What? Peace with whom? What’s this clown saying? For special governmental dispensation this mope will put in a good word for us with his primeval friends? For more power, a chance to further impose the savagery of sharia upon us we can have peace?

Does this Muslim really believe we, as a nation and a people need the likes of him to broker a peace deal with Muslims who rape and murder their own daughters?

One wishes one were in the room with a shoe in hand at that statement.

Hooper announced that the members of the press could question the muslims one on one and called the conference to an end. At that moment a woman stood and asked Nihad Awad, “Most of the members of the American Muslim Task force are named in the Holy Land trial as unindicted coconspirators for terrorism financing. We wanted to know if that could cause any risk to the Obama administration in treating these organizations as legitimate?

Seeing Awad scamper away like a rat from the light, the woman stated “Mr. Awad is not answering my question.”

I don’t know who she was.

But God bless her for asking that question.
