• Posted in Progressivism by OffsiteNatural law is a [human] participation in the eternal law. ~ St. Thomas Aquinas - Never let a serious crisis to go to waste. ~ Rahm Emanuel (Progressive tactic) - One-hundred fifty years ago, a social Darwinian revolution was unleashed upon civilization and later integrated into every conceivable aspect of society by the progressive movement and modern liberalism. The result, particularly since the 1960s: American law, culture and society have steadily devolved into anarchy and nihilism. Therefore, it has become increasing self-evident to me that civilization’s only hope to avert certain societal and constitutional collapse is a return to a Natural Law worldview.
Hooray for Glenn Beck! Right out there in front of God and everybody, he talks about global governance as a real and present danger. But right on cue, progressive bloggers do their best to ridicule the idea with wisdom such as this: Seriously, for a moment. We’re going to have to address the paranoia about a global takeover at some point – probably in easy-to-comprehend, Dick-and-Jane language – for the tea party.
There is an old saying, one that people of all philosophical persuasions seem to concur with, that “the more you tax something, the less you get of it.“ Those who support less government and more economic freedom have argued this for years. That was the reason behind the “supply side” tax cuts that proceeded periods of enormous economic growth. They came in the early 1920s, 1960s, 1980s, and at the beginning of this decade. In each case they resulted in huge increases in revenues and widespread job creation. Although “across the board,“ these cuts have a more immediate impact on those with higher incomes, because those are the ones who pay more in taxes. Why do these type of cuts increase revenue? The answer to that is simple—such cuts increases taxable economic activity.
CHURCHVILLE, VA - “Global warming is over - at least for a few decades,“ geologist Don Easterbrook, professor emeritus from Western Washington University told the Heartland Institute’s Fourth International Conference on Climate Change on May 19. He warned, however, us not to rejoice. Colder winters kill twice as many people as hot weather while crop production suffers from shorter growing seasons and weather-disrupted harvests.

It’s a strange title to start off a story with. Like all good recipes, a good salad dressing need spices, oil and water. Shake well and voila! Please, use this as food for thought.
From the frills of the 2010 Cannes Film Festival, liberal elites from around the world stand in defense of convicted sex offender Roman Polanski. Polanski was charged and convicted in the late 1970s of having sexual intercourse with a 13-year-old girl and then fled the U.S. before his sentencing. Living as a fugitive from justice in the non-extraditing country of France, Polanski has continued with his filmmaking career until recently traveling to receive movie awards in Switzerland, where he was held on house arrest pending a potential transfer back to the U.S. for sentencing on his 1970s sex crime. As additional allegations of sexual misconduct are being leveled at the filmmaker, just what should be the emphasis of the Polanski story?
On the day after his historic primary win, National Public Radio rabidly went after Rand Paul(1), newly minted GOP nominee for Kentucky Senator, trying to make him out to be a KKK sympathizer or perhaps a racist that would have agreed to keep Jim Crow alive and well in 1964. This rabid, left-wing attack is uncalled for and, further, is meant only to stir anti-Republican hatred and not to help voters discover anything relevant about nominee Rand Paul.
